About ACB Atlanta
Welcome to the new web site of the Atlanta chapter of A Common Bond, the worldwide support system for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered individuals who are active, inactive, disassociated, and disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witnesses.
The Atlanta group, is one of many chapters around the world. Our goal is to offer support by having regular meetings in a safe and secure setting in the Atlanta area.
We normally have a meeting (party) about once every other month. Most times this is very social and we only discuss ACB stuff as needed or desired by those attending.
The transition to accepting yourself and dealing with the teachings of this religion is slow and different for everyone, therefore we make every effort to help/listen as needed.
While every member is in a different place and feels differently, the goal is to help each other, not to speak badly of the Jehovah's Witnessess.
For information about our support group and social meetings, send us an e-mail using our contact form.
About: A Common Bond
is the worldwide support network for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals who were, or still are, associated with Jehovah's Witnesses.
We began in 1980 as a simple mimeographed newsletter, and have since grown into a worldwide network with local chapters and annual international conferences. The mission of A Common Bond is to provide support and comfort to individuals whose sexual orientation is in direct conflict with Jehovah's Witnesses anti-gay teachings. We are here to be your friends and offer you our support and comfort, because we all have shared the experience of being gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Jehovah's Witnesses -- our Common Bond.
It is not the purpose of A Common Bond to retaliate against the Watchtower organization, although we do recognize that we are called such things as "an abomination", "abhorrent", etc. in their literature, and we know that many of you are now shunned by your families and Witness friends. Our basic purpose is to help guide you to a life of genuine happiness, self-confidence, and self-acceptance beyond your involvement in the Organization.
We welcome correspondence from everywhere, and look forward to hearing from you!
